Kate Marshall in the Driver’s Seat for Lieutenant Governor Race

RENO, NV – Former State Treasurer and candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Kate Marshall, leads her Republican challenger, Senate Minority Leader Michael Roberson, by six points, 43-37%, in a recent internal poll conducted by Public Policy Polling (PPP).

In addition to a six-point lead, Marshall has coalesced the Democratic base around her candidacy and is garnering the support of 12% of Republicans surveyed.

“Democrats in Nevada have a lot of reason to be optimistic, given the state of the electorate,” said PPP Pollster Jim Williams. “They currently enjoy a 13-point enthusiasm gap and a 10-point lead in a generic Congressional horserace. In her race for Lieutenant Governor, make no mistake, Kate Marshall is sitting in the driver’s seat.”

“Nevadans are tired of politics as usual,” Kate Marshall said of the results. “Rather than partisanship and divisiveness, they’re ready for results. As Treasurer, I took on the wealthy Wall Street banks, protected taxpayer dollars during the great recession and found innovative new ways to bolster Nevada’s education system. I worked with both parties to identify the means to put Nevada on its brightest path toward the future. That’s the kind of leadership Nevada needs more than ever and it’s why voters are supporting our campaign.”

PPP surveyed 898 Nevada voters from March 16-18, 2018. The margin of error is +/- 3.3%. 80% of interviews for the poll were conducted over the phone with 20% interviewed over the Internet to reach respondents who don’t have landline telephones.
